Value-Oriented Chamber Music Organizations
In this time of limited financial resources, in terms
of funding for the arts and discretionary income, we are fortunate to
have a number of Southland Arts organizations dedicated to providing
quality Chamber Music performances at a reasonable cost or free of
In the hope of providing support to those
organizations, the following list represents a list of those
orgnanizations that are deserving of Chamber Music lovers'
patronage and attendance. All organizations here provide
top quality Chamber Music concerts at a very
affordable ticket price or free of charge.
- Cal Tech Public Affairs
-- Providers of the Coleman Chamber Music Series concerts at Beckman
Auditorium on the Cal Tech campus in Pasadena and an outstanding series
of free Chamber Music concerts at Dabney Lounge on the Caltech
campus. The 2009-2010 program includes such notable Chamber Music
ensembles as the Takacs String Quartet, The Emerson String Quartet and The
Enso String Quartet. There are also a series of free Sunday afternoon concerts
in the great acoustic of Dabney Lounge on the Caltech campus.

- Cerritos Performing Arts
Center -- The upcoming 2009-2010 season features such chamber
and recital artists as The ATSOS Piano Trio; Sarah Chang; Lynn Harrell and Jon Kimura Parker.

-- Low cost Classical Chamber Music summer outdoor concerts; venue is a
Terrace on the grounds of the Huntington Library in San Marino. This summer's programs
include such such renowned chamber works as Schubert's "Trout" Quintet;
Mozart's "Stadler" Clarinet Quintet K. 581 and Ravel's String Quartet.

- The Music Guild --
The Music Guild provides some of the world's renovwned Chamber
Ensembles at a very reasonable cost The fall/spring 2009-10 season features
such acclaimed artists as the St. Petersburg String Quartet, Borromeo
String Quartet, La Catrina Quartet; Germany's Hagen Quartet and Ireland's RTE Vanbrugh
String Quartet. There is also a Spring Concert Season at
University Synagogue in Los Angeles, which last season featured artists
such as The Janaki String Trio, The Ruggeri Piano Trio and Canada's
Piano Trio Voce`.

- Sundays Live -- Hour-long
Weekly Sunday Evening (excluding holidays) free concerts at 6 p.m. held
in the Bing Theater at Los Angeles County Musuem of Art free of
charge. The summer 2009 season includes performances by the Lyris String Quartet; the
Capitol Ensemble and I Palpiti Artists. Their website contains a complete
schedule of upcoming concerts for the quarter, plus a newsletter published by Jim Eninger, which comprehensively
